LAKE CHARLES- McNeese women's basketball team will travel to San Antonio, Texas Thursday for the second of four consecutive road games to face Incarnate Word in a 6 p.m. contest.

McNeese (9-7, 3-2 SLC), who is coming off a 79-74 win at Sam Houston State last Saturday, are tied for fourth place in the league standings heading into the game. The Cowgirls have won four of their last six games including its first road win of the season.

The Cowgirls will be looking to pick up their second straight win over Incarnate Word (5-10, 2-2 SLC) after handing the Cardinals one of their worst losses in school history with a 92-37 win in Lake Charles.

Juniors
Allison Baggett and
Jayln Johnson continue to pace the Cowgirls on offense. Baggett continues to lead McNeese and ranks fourth in the Southland Conference in scoring with 16.6 ppg. Baggett also leads the team with an 85.3 free throw percent. Johnson is averaging 11.8 ppg. and ranks third in the league with 4.3 assists per contest.

Amber Donnes gave the Cowgirls and offensive boost against Sam Houston State. Donnes scored a career high 21 points and connected on 5 of 9 three-pointers.

Talisa Boyd as a team-high 5.6 rebounds per game and is averaging 5.3 ppg. Boyd also leads the Cowgirls with a 50.0 field goal shooting percent. Â

Frederica Haywood is giving the Cowgirls another rebounder and is averaging 5.2 per game.

Incarnate Word's Aricka Adams is the only player averaging in double figures with 13.5 points per game. Yvonne Maosa leads UIW with 7.5 rpg.
