LAKE CHARLES – McNeese indoor track and field racked up a total of eight 1
st-place awards at Friday's Cameron Communications McNeese Indoor Invitational including a double winner by
Gemma Bridge in the 1-mile and 3,000-meter races.
In addition to the first place finishes, the squad posted 19 top three finishes while 23 others put up new PRs (personal records).
Perhaps the biggest performance on the day came from triple jumper
John Lemke who soared for a personal best measurement of 50-feet, 6-inches on his final jump of the day to move him into the No. 2 spot in the Southland rankings in the event.
Oliver James posted a time of 8:23.22 for a new PR in winning the 3,000-meters for the second straight week while moving into the No. 1 spot in the conference. The Cowboys swept the awards in the long distance race with
Nathan Jones (8:23.66) and
Fisher Hamilton (8:31.74) finishing second and third while also posting new PRs. And
Olandis Johnson grabbed a first place in the 600 meters with a time of 1:22.49.
On the women's side, Bridge clocked PRs in both the 1-mile (5:15.94) and 3,000-meters (10:17.49) to win both events.
RaKira Turner's first place throw of 46-06.25 in the shot put moved her up to No. 2 in the conference rankings. She also set a new PR in the weight event with a second place mark of 50-10.75.

Maegan Moore winning the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.11
