With a good part of McNeese track and field's top athletes still in California competing at the Long Beach State Beach Relays on Saturday, the bulk of the team took part in the Southeastern Louisiana Lion Invitational where the squad posted numerous top five finishes on the day.

Sprinter
Tyler Smith had a third place finish in the men's 100-meters with a time of 10.63 then ran a leg on the 4x100-meter relays that placed third with a time of 41.59. The Cowboys' 4x400 relay team also placed third with a time of 3:27.27.

On the women's side,
Imogen Hull ran a PR time of 2:20.12 in the 800 meters to lift her into the top 15 in the Southland Conference rankings.

Morgan Woods, who is ranked fifth in the league in the javelin throw, placed fourth in the event after a mark of 133-11.

Maya Tunwar finished fourth in the high jump at 5-feet, 3-inches, and was fifth in the long jump at 18-01.50.

Out at the Long Beach State Beach Relays,
Danielle Epps sprinted to a sixth place finish with a time of 11.86 while
Simone Johnson clocked an 11.95.

Kartavius Hamilton jumped a season-best 24-feet, 2 ¼-inches in the long jump for an eighth place finish. That distance keeps him ranked at No. 5 in the league rankings.

Nicole Casper cleared a season-best 13-6 in the pole vault and remains the second-ranked vaulter in the conference.
