LAKE CHARLES—McNeese softball will travel to Corpus Christi, Texas this weekend for a three-game Southland Conference series against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. The series will begin with a 1 p.m. doubleheader Friday afternoon and will conclude with a 12 p.m. single game on Saturday. All games will be streamed and live stats will also be available. McNeese (25-13, 11-1 SLC) is coming off a 10-3 road loss at 6
th ranked Texas A&M on Wednesday. The Cowgirls took an early 3-0 lead before the Aggies scored six runs in the third and four more in the fourth to improve to 32-3 on the season.
The Cowgirls enter the weekend tied for first in the conference race with Abilene Christian who also is 11-1 in the SLC.

Justyce McClain continues to lead a potent Cowgirl offense with a .403 average. McClain is hitting .472 in league play while junior
Erika Piancastelli has a .483 batting average with a .966 slugging percent, 16 RBI and 13 walks in conference games.
McNeese has the top two pitchers in the league with the lowest ERA. Freshman
Alexsandra Flores has a 0.29 ERA in conference action while senior
Rachel Smith has a 0.53 ERA in the SLC. Smith also leads the league in opponent batting average, holding the opposition to a .115 average. Flores enters the weekend with an 8-3 record while Smith is 9-5.
The Islanders (6-23, 1-8 SLC) are coming off a SLC series road loss at Abilene Christian last weekend. Their only conference win was a 5-4 win against Northwestern State two weeks ago.
Mackinzee Griebel has a team best .320 batting average with 24 hits. Lacey Boyd has a .317 batting average with 20 hits.
Liz Carter and Kandace Johnson have handled the pitching duties all season. Carter is 5-13 overall with a 4.26 ERA and 96 strikeouts while Johnson is 1-10 with a 4.72 ERA and 36 strikeouts.
