Women's Basketball Hosts UCA In Play4Kay Game Wednesday

LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's basketball returns to the court Wednesday, Feb. 14 to host Central Arkansas at 6:30 p.m. in its Play4Kay game.  
 
Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game and to help raise funds for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, the Cowgirls will raffle a team autographed basketball for $5 a ticket or five tickets for $20.
 
McNeese (11-12, 7-5 SLC) has won three of its last four games and are coming off a 69-47 home win over Southeastern La. last Saturday.
 
Sophomore Caitlin Davis and senior Dede Sheppard continue to lead the Cowgirls in scoring with 11.7 ppg. and 10.4 ppg. Davis also leads the Cowgirls and ranks second in the conference with 5.7 assists.
 
The Cowgirls continue to lead the conference in rebounds with 43.3 per game and are second with 17.2 offensive rebounds per game. Three Cowgirls continue to average six or more rebounds with senior Mercedes Rogers leading the way with 7.3 per game. Freshman Bre'Ashlee Jones is averaging 7.0 rpg. and senior Jasmyn Carswell is averaging 6.0 per game.
 
Central Arkansas (16-7, 9-3 SLC) enters the game ranked third in the standings behind Lamar and Stephen F. Austin and have won five of their last six games. The Sugar Bears are the leagues best shooting team with a 43.5 field goal percent.
 
UCA has three players averaging in double figures with Taylor Baudoin leading the way with 14.2 ppg. Kamry Orr is averaging 12.8 ppg. and Kierra Jordan is averaging 117 ppg. and a team best 8.2 rpg.
