LAKE CHARLES—McNeese softball will continue its 19 game road schedule by playing its third ranked opponent in less than a week when the Cowgirls travel to Tallahassee, Florida to face 8
th ranked Florida State in a single game on Tuesday. First pitch is set 4 p.m. central time.
McNeese (6-3) is coming off a weekend where they posted a 2-2 record at the Southern Miss Black and Gold Invitational. The Cowgirls picked up its wins over Mississippi Valley State and Southern Miss. Their two losses came against 11
th ranked Baylor and 9
th ranked Alabama.
In the most recent NCAA statistics report, the Cowgirls lead the nation in stolen bases with 38. Sophomore
Brenique Wright ranks eighth in the nation in triples with two. Wright is coming off a week where she produced a .400 batting average with six hits in 15 at bats, two home runs, three RBI and scored four runs. She enters Tuesday's game with a .455 batting average and six stolen bases.

Justyce McClain leads the team with a .517 batting average, 15 hits and seven stolen bases. McClain also has three RBI to her credit.
Senior designated player
Morgan Catron leads McNeese three home runs and nine RBI and is batting .360 with nine hits while senior
Erika Piancastelli has eight RBI and is coming off a game against Southern Miss where she hit her first two home runs of the season.
Freshman pinch runner Toni Perrin is perfect on the base paths with six stolen bases in six attempts.
In the circle, the Cowgirls have had four different pitchers seeing action. Freshman
Caroline Settle is 3-1 with a 3.00 ERA in 23.1 innings with 10 strikeouts. Fellow freshman Amber Coon is 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA in 16.1 innings with nine strikeouts. Sophomore
Alexsandra Flores is 2-2 with a 5.25 ERA in 18.2 innings and also has 10 strikeouts on the year. Freshman Ashley Koncir doesn't have record with a 9.00 ERA in 2.1 innings.
Florida State (8-1), the ACC preseason favorite, is coming off a 2-0 win over no. 20 Michigan on Sunday in the ACC/Big Ten Softball Challenge in Tallahassee. Florida State's only loss was a 1-0 setback against the Seminoles on Saturday.
Six Seminoles are batting above .300 and three are batting over .400. Cali Harrod leads the team with a .480 average and five stolen bases. She is tied for a team high with 12 hits. Sydney Sherrill is batting .440 while Jessie Warren, was named to the Top 50 List for the 2018 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year, has a .429 average and leads the team with 13 RBI.
The Seminoles have used mainly two pitchers in Kylee Hanson and Meghan King. Hanson is 5-0 with a 0.55 ERA and 33 strikeouts. King, also named to the Top 50 Watch List for the 2018 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year, is 3-1 with a 0.86 ERA and 19 strikeouts.
Following Tuesday's game, the Cowgirls will travel to Jacksonville, Florida to face North Florida (6-4) at 6:30 p.m. (Central Time) Wednesday.
The Ospreys, are currently riding a four game winning streak after a 4-0 weekend at the North Florida Courtyard Marriott Invite. North Florida will face Hofstra on Tuesday before taking on the Cowgirls on Wednesday.
