LAKE CHARLES – McNeese will look to keep it's good vibes going this weekend when it carries a two-game winning streak into a three-game home series against UTSA to close out its current home stand.
 
The series will get started on Friday with the first pitch set for 6 p.m., and will continue Saturday at 3 and Sunday at 1.
 
The Cowboys (2-6) are coming off a 6-3 win over 21^st-ranked Mississippi State on Wednesday for the team's second straight victory.
 
In that game, McNeese's offense pounded out two home runs (Jake Cochran and Carson Maxwell), a double (Shane Selman), and a triple (Reid Bourque) as half of the team's eight hits.
 
Selman, who has reached base safely in all eight games on the year, leads the team in the triple crown categories with a .357 batting average, four home runs, and 10 RBI.
 
Jacob Stracner follows with a .300 average while the Cowboys as a team is hitting .226 in the early going.
 
Right-handed pitcher Aidan Anderson (0-2, 9.72 ERA) is expected to get the start on the mound on Friday night and LHP Bryan King (0-0, 4.35) will start on Saturday. No decision has been made for Sunday's starter.
 
In his last outing last Saturday, King allowed just one run and three hits in seven innings and left the game with the Cowboys leading Texas State 3-1 after seven innings. But the Bobcats rallied for three runs in the bottom of the eighth to get a 4-3 win and King was dealt a no-decision.
 
UTSA will carry a 2-5 record into Joe Miller Ballpark and has dropped four straight games. The Roadrunners were swept by No. 3 Texas Tech last weekend and fell 2-0 to No. 17 Texas on Tuesday night.
 
UTSA is hitting .195 as a team and is led by Ryan Stacy's .278 average.
 
The Roadrunners will start RHP Karan Patel (0-0, 4.50) on Friday, RHP Steven Dressler (1-1, 2.03) on Saturday, and TBA on Sunday.
