Historic Season Continues for Nachtsheim with Perfect Game All-America Selection

LAKE CHARLES – Postseason awards keeping rolling in for McNeese senior pitcher Eric Nachtsheim when on Wednesday, he was named to the 2026 Perfect Game All-American Second Team.
 
On Tuesday, Nachtsheim was named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Second Team. He's the first Cowboy to earn All-American honors since 2023 when Grant Rogers became just the third Cowboy in history to garner Consensus status.
 
Nachtsheim is the 15th Cowboy to be named All-American at the Division I level.
 
This past season, Nachtsheim, the Southland Conference Relief Pitcher of the Year and first team All-Southland Conference selection, posted an 8-4 record with three saves, along with posting a 3.39 ERA.
 
In addition, the senior from Reno, Nevada struck out a Cowboy baseball single season record of 129 batters in 93.0 innings pitched and walked just 21. He led the pitching staff in strikeouts, while also tossing one complete game while ranking eighth in the nation and first in the conference in total strikeouts.
 
Other awards/accolades Nachtsheim has garnered this season includes being named to the College Baseball Foundations Initial National Pitcher of the Year list in March, being named to Baseball America's Week 4 National Team of the Week in March, and being named Southland Conference Pitcher of the Week twice this season (March 9 and May 4).
