Lake Charles – McNeese returns to Cowboy Stadium on Saturday night for the first of two straight home Southland Conference games beginning with Stephen F. Austin.
 
Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
 
The Cowboys (3-1, 2-0 SLC) will enter the game ranked No. 10 in this week's STATS FCS poll and 11
th in the AFCA Coaches Top 25, having dropped one spot in each poll after last week's 30-3 loss to now No. 20 BYU. The Lumberjacks (1-2, 1-1) picked up their first win on the season after beating Abilene Christian 24-21 last week.
 
McNeese is one of four teams unbeaten in conference play on the season and the only squad with two league wins.

Six Greats to be Inducted into the McNeese Sports Hall of Fame
• Six of the greatest athletes to ever compete in their respective sports have been selected as the 2018 inductees into the McNeese Sports Hall of Fame – football's Jermaine Martin and Bill Moseley, women's basketball's Ashlyn and Caitlyn Baggett, track and field's 
Ben Chretien, and baseball's 
Jace Peterson. The six will be recognized at halftime of Saturday night's game and will officially be inducted during a pregame ceremony beginning at 4:30 at the McNeese Cowboy Club Room.

• As a team, the Cowboys are ranked third in the nation in completion percentage (73.1 percent), fifth in fumble recoveries (6), sixth in kickoff return defense (13.75 ypr), eighth in turnovers gained (10), eighth in total team sacks (14), and ninth in total team tackles for a loss (31).
• Individually, linebacker B.J. Blunt is ranked first in the FCS in total sacks (5) and ninth in sacks per game (1.25); quarterback 
James Tabary is fourth in completion percentage (71.6); defensive end 
Tyrique Gibson is first in fumble recoveries (2); wide receiver and punt returner 
Parker Orgeron is first in punt returns for a touchdown (1) and sixth in punt return average (18.0 ypr); defensive end

Cowboys and Lumberjacks Series
• Saturday's game will be the 38th meeting between the two schools with McNeese holding a 20-15-2 lead in the series.
• McNeese won last year by a score of 35-0 in Nacogdoches. It was the second shutout ever recorded in the series, both by McNeese (14-0 win in 1960).
• The series is knotted up 5-5 over the last 10 outings.
• SFA has won the last two games played in Cowboy Stadium - 31-28 in 2016 and 31-16 in 2014.
• The visiting team has won the last five games in the series.
 
McNeese in "The Hole"
• Cowboy Stadium, aka "The Hole" has been McNeese's home since 1965, and since that time, the Cowboys have recorded 206 wins in 301 games in their home venue.
• McNeese has produced 16 regular season undefeated home slates, including a 5-0 mark last year.
• The Cowboys have posted a 97-39-3 all-time record in Southland Conference home games, including a 49-13 home mark since the year 2000.
• McNeese has won 7 straight home league games dating to the 2016 season and is 23-7 since 2010.
 
Couple of Cowboys Get First Career Starts at BYU
• A couple of McNeese players notched their first career starts at BYU last Saturday - offensive lineman 
Collin Fountain and defensive end 
Keivonnis Davis.
• Fountain, a redshirt sophomore, started at the right guard position in place of the injured 
Tyrae Johnson. The Lake Charles native and Barbe High School graduate played in 60 of the possible 61 snaps for the game.
• Davis, a junior transfer from the University of Florida, started in his first game as a McNeese Cowboy and had a tackle in the game.
