Berger shoots career low 69 at David Toms Intercollegiate

SHREVEPORT – McNeese's Theo Berger scored a career-low 69 in Sunday's final round of the David Toms Intercollegiate to lead the Cowboys on the last day of the LSU hosted event.
 
Berger, a sophomore from France, recorded five birdies and two bogeys on the day to finish at 3-under par for the round. He ended the tourney tied for 36th on the individual leaderboard with a 3-over 219 score.
 
Cowboy freshman Greg Holmes entered the final 18 holes in a tie for ninth place but shot a 5-over 77 on Sunday to end in a tie for 24th place with an even par 216.
 
As a team, the Cowboys shot a 293 on the day to finish in 11th place in the 12-team field. Host LSU ran away with the title with an 801 followed by Memphis with an 838.
 
LSU's Trey Winstead and Hayden White tied for the individual title by shooting 17-under par for the tournament.
 
Other Cowboy scores on the day included Rick Frauenberger with a 75 to finish with a 220, Jack Hearn a 72 and a 54-hole total of 234, and Louis Talarczyk with an 86 to finish at 247.
 
The Cowboys will next be in action Oct. 20-21 when they host the Quail Valley Intercollegiate which is played at the Quail Valley Golf Club in Vero Beach, Florida. This event will be the final tournament of the fall season.
