LAKE CHARLES—McNeese softball will travel to College Station, Texas this weekend to take part in the Texas A&M Aggie Invitational three-day tournament beginning Friday. Other tournament teams include Rutgers, Liberty and host Texas A&M.
McNeese (3-3) will open tournament play with a 12:15 p.m. game against Rutgers (3-2) Friday afternoon then will conclude the day against #22 Texas A&M (5-1) at 5:15 p.m. in a game that will be available on SECN Network Plus which can be accessed through

Saturday's schedule has McNeese facing Liberty (1-4 at 10 a.m. and Rutgers at 5:15 p.m. before concluding tournament action against Texas A&M at 12;15 p.m. Sunday.
The Cowgirls are coming off a 3-3 record at its own Cowgirl Classic last weekend that saw them open the season with an 8-0 five inning run-rule win over Samford. McNeese also picked up wins over Campbell and Lipscomb. Their losses came against Samford, #14 Arkansas and Lipscomb.
Junior
Alexsandra Flores (2-1) opened the season with a one-hitter against Samford where she also gave up one walk in 16 batters.
Senior
Justyce McClain picked up where she left off from the 2018 season and batted .421 over the weekend with eight hits, three stolen bases and scored seven runs. McClain hit her second career home run in her second at bat of the season opener against Samford.
Freshman second baseman
Sara Geier is second on the team with a .333 batting average while sophomore
Demi Boudreaux is batting .333 and is second on the team with six hits.

Amber Coons who is 1-0 on the season in two appearance, is tied with a team high seven strikeouts.
Rookie
Saleen Flores opened her collegiate career with three appearance over the weekend and had some impressive outings. Flores picked up one save with seven strikeouts and has a 1.62 ERA.
