BIRMINGHAM – McNeese's track and field squad will open up action at the 2019 Southland Conference Indoor Championships here Sunday at the Birmingham Crossplex as the Cowgirls focus their sights on a top three finish and possibly taking home some hardware.

The Southland Indoor Track & Field Championships will be streamed on the Southland Digital Network. Visit southland.org/live or download the Southland Conference app, available for iPhone, Android, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and Roku.

Events will get underway at 8:30 a.m. with events for the men's pentathlon and women's heptathlon.

Individual events will start at noon with the women's 5,000-meters while the field events will start at 1 with the women's weight throw.

"We're looking forward to getting the competition underway," said head coach Brendon Gilroy. "The work is done. The hay is in the barn. It's time to saddle up and turn it loose."
