LAKE CHARLES—McNeese softball will head to Oklahoma to take part in the Oklahoma State/Tulsa Invitational this weekend and will conclude its trip with a single game at the University of Oklahoma next Tuesday.
Due to expected frigid cold weather and possible snow, the Oklahoma State/Tulsa Invitational schedule has been altered from the original schedule.
McNeese (7-9) will open tournament action at 1 p.m. Friday against Seattle (9-6) then will take on the host team, No. 21 Oklahoma State (10-5) at 6 p.m. later in the evening.
On Saturday, McNeese will play Northern Iowa (6-4) at noon and No. 21 Oklahoma State at 2:30 p.m. to conclude tournament play.
The Cowgirls will remain in Oklahoma following the OSU/Tulsa Invitational and will travel to Norman, OK. on Tuesday to play No. 4 Oklahoma (13-2) at 6 p.m.

McNeese (7-9)

Seattle (9-6)
- Member of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC)
- Coming off a 3-2 record at the UC Davis Aggie Invitational
- Olivia Vigglano (.451) and Ally Chaote (.447) lead the Redhawks at the plate
- Balley Thompson leads the team with six homeruns
- Carley Nance (5-3) and Andie Larkins (3-1) both have a team low 1.81 ERA. Nance leads the pitching staff with 38 strikeouts
Oklahoma State (10-5)
- Member of the Big 12 Conference
- It's the home opening weekend for the Cowgirls
- Will be the third nationally ranked team McNeese has played so far this season
- Coming off a 3-2 record at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic last weekend
- Have three players batting over .300. Madi Sue Montgomery leads the team with a .326 average, 15 RBI
- Have used four pitchers. Samantha Show, Gabby Sprang, and Logan Simunek all lead the team with three wins apiece. Show has a team low 2.93 ERA in 40 innings.
Northern Iowa (6-4)
- Member of the Missouri Valley Conference
- Coming off a 3-2 record at the North Florida Osprey/Dolphin Invitational
- Led by Olivia Brooks' .545 batting average, 18 hits
- Sammy Bunch leads the team with three home runs
- Emma Olejniczak and Brooke Craig lead the team with two wins, both are 2-1 on the season
- Three pitchers (Olenjniczak, Craig, and Hannah Kelley) all have pitched at least 18 innings this season
- Olenjniczak leads the staff with 12 strikeouts
