LAKE CHARLES – The McNeese Cowboys will play their last home game of a four-game home stand on Tuesday against league opponent Southeastern Louisiana at Joe Miller Ballpark in a non-conference match up before traveling to Natchitoches to face the Demons over the weekend. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. tomorrow night.
This will be the first game of a home-and-home series with Southeastern La., with the second game being in Hammond on May 1. The two teams do not meet as conference opponents this year.
The Cowboys (19-17, 6-9 SLC) are looking continue their success from a 3-1 week last week after defeating UL-Lafayette in Lafayette 6-3, and then winning a league series against New Orleans, 2-1, in Lake Charles this past weekend.
The Lions (18-18, 10-5 SLC) enter Tuesday's game splitting their last four games, losing to Tulane in a mid-week matchup, 15-14, and then defeating conference opponent Northwestern State, 2-1, at home in a weekend three-game series.
Senior right-handed pitcher
Cayne Ueckert (1-2) will be on the bump for Tuesday's game for the Cowboys. His last outing came in relief against UL-Lafayette, where he surrendered three runs on five hits in 2.1 innings of work. This will be Ueckert's eighth start of the season and has compiled a 5.45 ERA, 34 strikeouts, and 38.0 innings pitched in nine appearances on the year. He will look to continue the Cowboys success against the Lions come Tuesday night.
