LAKE CHARLES—McNeese softball will continue its seven-game home stand Wednesday night when the Cowgirls host Southern Miss in a midweek contest beginning at 6 p.m.
McNeese (23-22) has won eight of their last 10 games including Southland Conference sweeps at Abilene Christian and a home sweep over Central Arkansas last weekend. The Cowgirls' two losses in the last 10 games have come against nationally ranked UL-Lafayette and LSU.
Senior
Justyce McClain heads into the game with a team best .400 batting average, 30 runs, 58 hits and is second on the team with 22 stolen bases.
Junior
Cori McCrary leads the team with 23 RBI and 28 stolen bases. She is batting .350 with 48 hits, 23 runs.
Sophomore
Demi Boudreaux has a team high 11 doubles and is second with 17 RBI and has scored 30 runs. Boudreaux is batting .244.
Southern Miss (26-16) will host Nicholls tonight (Tuesday) before making its way to Lake Charles for Wednesday's game.
The Golden Eagles are currently riding a nine-game winning streak and are coming off a series sweep over Alabama-Birmingham last weekend.
McNeese will remain home for a Southland Conference series against Nicholls. The series will begin with a single game at 6 p.m. Friday and will conclude with a noon doubleheader Saturday.
