LAKE CHARLES –The sixth annual McNeese baseball and softball Diamond Dinner is set for Friday, Jan. 31 from 6-9 p.m. at the Historic Cash and Carry Building in Lake Charles.
The event, which serves as the official kick-off to the season for both squads, will begin with a social hour from 6-7 p.m., with a cash bar available throughout the event. Dinner will be served around 7 p.m., and supporters will hear from both baseball head coach

James Landreneau regarding the upcoming season, prior to the beginning of the live auction.
A silent auction will be held with a variety of items up for bid while those in attendance will have a chance to walk away with a variety of door prizes.
McNeese's Diamond Dinner has been a highly successful event the last five years, with proceeds directly supporting the baseball and softball student-athletes and their programs.
There are four levels of reserved tables for the event:
- Single ($1,000)- Reserved premium seating for eight, gift for each member of the table, and name on display
- Double ($2,500)- Reserved premium seating for eight, gift for each member of the table, name on display, custom McNeese Marucci bat, and a pistol for the table purchaser.
- Triple ($5,000)- Reserved premium seating for eight, name on display, waitress for the table, custom McNeese Marucci mini bat for each table member, and a McNeese football helmet and shotgun for the table purchaser.
- Home Run ($10,000)- Reserved premium seating for eight, name on display, waitress for the table, custom McNeese Marucci mini bat for each table member, a McNeese football helmet and shotgun for the table purchaser. The table purchaser also has the option to upgrade the shotgun or take a personalized trip to Costa Rica.
