PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – Freshman Louis Talarczyk shot a 2-under par 68 on Tuesday and finished in a tie for 25^th place to lead McNeese in the final round of the Sea Best Invitational at the TPC at Sawgrass.
 
His score enabled the Cowboys to post the best team round of the three as they finished with a 290 for the day. Overall, the Cowboys finished 14^th with a 54-hole total of 885 as 12^th-ranked Texas A&M won the team title with an 827.
 
Starting on the 10^th hole, Talarczyk recorded a birdie in three of the first eight holes to get to minus-3. A double-bogey on the 18^th brought him back to 1-under but the England native rallied with a couple more birdies on Nos. 2 and 4 then bogeyed on the final hole to finish with a 68, his lowest round in his collegiate career.
 
Greg Holmes followed Talarczyk with a 2-over 72 while Rick Frauenberger and Reid Giardina both scored a 75 and Jack Hearn a 77.
 
Florida's Ricky Castillo and Josh Axelsen placed 1-2 on the individual leaderboard – Castillo at 8-under and Axelsen minus-5.
 
The Cowboys will return to action on Feb. 17-18 when they take part in the LA Tour Intercollegiate hosted by Nicholls and played at the LA Tour Golf Club in Matthews.
