LAKE CHARLES—McNeese softball will take to the road again this week for a midweek game at Louisiana-Monroe Wednesday beginning at 6 p.m. then will continue on for a Southland Conference series at Central Arkansas on the weekend.
 
McNeese (18-7) will face ULM (10-13) for the second time this season. The Cowgirls picked up a 3-1 win over the Warhawks on Feb. 19 in Lake Charles. Since that meeting, the Warhawks have gone 6-7 with five of their wins coming against Southland Conference opponents. ULM is coming off a Sun Belt series loss at Georgia Southern where they dropped the first two games but avoided a sweep with a 6-3 in the final game of the series on Sunday.
 
For the Cowgirls, they have produced an 8-5 record with two of those losses coming against No. 7 Arizona and one loss to then No. 8 Alabama. McNeese is coming off a SLC series sweep over Abilene Christina last weekend.
 
Cori McCrary has been swinging a hot bat lately and leads the Cowgirls with a .400 batting average including a .714 average in the ACU series. McCrary also leads the team with a .660 slugging percent, nine stolen bases and is second with 20 hits.
 
Freshman Caylon Brabham leads the Cowgirls with 25 hits, eight doubles, and 15 RBI and is second with a .391 batting average. Junior Toni Perrin has a team high four home runs and 15 RBI.
 
In the circle, sophomore Saleen Flores leads with seven wins (7-3) while freshman Whitney Tate (2-2) has a staff low 1.47 ERA and a staff high 30 strikeouts. Senior Alexsandra Flores (4-2) enters the game with a 1.76 ERA with 28 strikeouts and two saves while junior Caroline Settle (4-0) has a 1.80 ERA with 16 strikeouts. As a staff, the Cowgirls carry a 1.65 ERA into Wednesday's game.
 
Korie Kreps leads the Warhawks with a .425 batting average, 31 hits, 24 runs scored and 15 walks while Ana Hogan and Jayden Mount have a team high eight doubles apiece.
 
Amber Coons (4-2) leads the pitching staff with a 2.76 ERA while Murphy Williams has a staff best five wins (5-2) and 24 strikeouts with a 3.68 ERA.
 
There has been an addition to the playing schedule, McNeese will travel to LSU on April 15 for a 6 p.m. game.
