SPRING, Texas – McNeese will open up play in the Colin Mongtomerie-HBU Men's Golf Invitational on Monday morning with two rounds of action beginning at 8:30 while the third and final round will take place on Tuesday.
The 12-team tournament, which is hosted by Houston Baptist, will be played at the Augusta Pines Golf Course, a par 72, 7,012-yard course.
Joining McNeese in the field are Southland Conference members HBU, Abilene Christian, New Orleans, Southeastern Louisiana, Stephen F. Austin and Incarnate Word, as well as Weber State, Prairie View, UT Rio Grande Valley, Houston, North Dakota and Midland Community College.
The Cowboys' lineup will consist of junior
Reid Giardina, sophomores
Michael Terblanche and
Theo Berger, and freshmen
Greg Holmes and
Louis Talarczyk.
Holmes currently leads the Cowboys in scoring with a 71.61 average with Terblanche right behind with a 71.67 per round average. Berger will be playing in his first tournament of the spring after posting a 74.44 average in three fall tournaments while Giardiana will compete in his second spring tourney and has a 76.17 average. Talarczyk is averaging 75.33 in five tourneys on the year but is averaging 72.33 in two spring outings.
McNeese will be paired with Stephen F. Austin, Incarnate Word and Southeastern Louisiana on the first day.
