INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. —This weekend would have been the NCAA softball regional tournament but due to the COVID-19 Pandemic that ended the season and the tournaments, the NCAA will re-air past Regional and Super Regional games on its Facebook page.

Regional and Super Regional games that were played during past NCAA Division I Softball Championship tournaments will re-air on www.Facebook.com/NCAASoftball. Coverage will take place May 14-17 with regional games and May 21-24 with super regional matchups.  

The 24-game slate features 30 softball programs, 10 of which have won Division I national championships during the last 38 years. A special element of the re-broadcast of these memorable contests is that all games are condensed to remove commercial breaks.

The Cowgirls, 14 inning regional game in Baton Rouge against Arizona State on May 21, 2016 has been selected as one of the games to re-air. The game will re-air at 4 p.m. (CT) Friday, May 15.

The game, which is the third longest Cowgirl game played in terms of innings, lasted nearly four hours and ended a record-breaking season where the Cowgirls posted a 43-14 record. The 43 wins is still the most wins in program history along with the 43 wins the Cowgirls posted the following season in 2017.
