Arvie and McNeese Track Teams Earn Academic Honors by USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS – For the nineteenth consecutive year, the McNeese track and field program is being recognized by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for its academics as Alanna Arvie and the men's and women's teams garnered All-Academic Team honors.
 
The Cowgirls posted a team GPA of 3.56 for the season, one of the top in both the Southland Conference and the state of Louisiana, while the Cowboys posted a team GPA of 3.25.
 
In addition to the team accolades, Alanna Arvie earned individual USTFCCCA All-Academic honors. Arvie accumulated a 3.47 GPA in biology with a concentration in pre-med.
  
To qualify for individual USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have either finished the indoor season ranked in the national top 96 or participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
 
A total of 463 teams were honored by the USTFCCCA – 264 of those were women's compared to 199 men's programs. A team must compile at least a 3.0 GPA to receive the recognition.
