New Orleans – Fresh off winning the 2021 Southland Conference Cross Country championship, the McNeese Cowboys moved up one spot to No. 6 in the latest USTFCCCA South Central Region poll while the Cowgirls, who finished strong with a third place mark, moved into the top 15 poll at No. 13.
Both teams will be back in action on Nov. 12 when they take part in the NCAA South Central Regional Meet which will take place in Waco, Texas.
Led by
Gideon Cheplak, who placed third in Friday's SLC Championships, the Cowboys are one spot behind LSU for sixth. Arkansas tops the poll followed by Texas, North Texas, Rice and Texas A&M to round out the top five.
Topping the women's poll is Arkansas. Texas follows along with Abilene Christian, Rice and LSU.
