LIVE RESULTS. TUESDAY ESPN+

LAFAYETTE - The McNeese Five will tee-off its 2021 golf season on Monday when it opens play in the 36th Annual Louisiana Classics hosted by Louisiana-Lafayette and played at the Oakbourne Country Club. The Cowboys will be looking to defend its championship it won in the 2019 spring season.

Two rounds will be played on Monday beginning with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. The third and final round will be played on Tuesday.

McNeese is one of 14 teams entered in the tournament, joining the host ULL as well as Illinois, Michigan, North Texas, Kansas City, Sam Houston, ULM, Illinois State, Texas State, UTEP, Rice, Oral Roberts, North Texas and Southern Illinois.

"We've had some good prep time and strong qualifying scores," said head coach Mike Fluty. "But being out of competition for almost a year will bring its challenges. It will take a strong mental and physical game to bring home the title again. The guys are eager to compete and prove themselves. I'm proud to get the chance to coach this mature and talented group."

McNeese's lineup will feature Theo Berger in the No. 1 spot followed by Reid Giardina, Jack Hearn, Jake Leatherwood and Trey Meadows.

The Cowboys won this event the last time it was played back in the spring of 2019 with a 1-under par, seven strokes better than the second place team.

In that tournament, Hearn tied for 9th on the individual leaderboard at 2-over par while Giardina tied for 13th with a 3-over score.

Tuesday's final round will broadcast live on ESPN plus.
