LAKE CHARLES – For the second time in a week, McNeese softball will face off against #12 UL-Lafayette. Both teams will square off for a 6:30 p.m. game Wednesday at Joe Miller Field at Cowgirl Diamond.

McNeese (3-11) took then #7 UL-Lafayette into extra innings last Wednesday in Lafayette before falling 8-7 in eight innings with the Cowgirls committing five errors.
The game will mark the 13^th out of 15 games played against a ranked opponent to start the season.
 
McNeese is coming off a 1-0, 8 inning loss at #6 Florida on Sunday with the winning run coming off a walk-off homerun.
 
Alayis Seneca leads the Cowgirls with a team high .333 batting average along with 10 hits. Cori McCrary has a team high four homeruns including one against the Cajuns and Central Florida last week. Jil Poullard leads the team with 12 hits and six stolen bases and is second on the team with a .261 batting average.
 
In the circle, Jenna Edwards who is coming off her best outing of the season against Florida has a staff low 1.79 ERA. Freshman Ashley Vallejo leads with 19 strikeouts while Saleen Flores has the most wins on the staff with two.
 
UL-Lafayette is lead at the plate by Ciara Bryan's .463 batting average, 18 hits, and two homeruns. Kandra Lamb has a 1.89 ERA with a 3-1 record while Summer Ellyson is 4-2 on the year with a 2.16 ERA and Casey Dixon is 2-0 with a 0.70 ERA.
