SB: Cowgirls Travel To South Alabama Wednesday

LAKE CHARLES –  McNeese softball will step out of conference play on Wednesday when the Cowgirls will travel to Mobile, Alabama to face South Alabama in a single game beginning at noon.  The game will be available on ESPN+ and live stats will also be provided. McNeese (14-18) will carry a four-game winning streak into the game following a three game Southland Conference series sweep over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi last weekend.

South Alabama (16-11) is coming off a Sunbelt series at the hands of UL-Lafayette last weekend. Prior to the series loss, the Jaguars won eight of their previous nine games including a road win at then #2 Alabama.

Kayla Lopez, who is coming off a good Southland Conference series where she 5 for 9 with two doubles and three RBI currently leads the team with a .328 batting average. Cori McCrary has a .295 average and leads the team with 28 hits, six homeruns, and 19 runs scored.

Jenna Edwards is also coming off an outstanding series against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi where she posted a 2-0 record with two complete games, allowing nine hits and struck out nine.

The Jaguars have four players batting over .300 with Meredith Keel batting a team high .392 with 31 hits and seven doubles. Kamdyn Kvistad leads with five homeruns on the year.
