MONTGOMERY, Texas – McNeese's Jack Hearns shot a 3-under par 69 in Tuesday's final round of the Huntsville Bearkat Invitational played at the Walden on Lake Conroe, ending the three-round tournament in a tie for fifth place overall with a 1-under par.
 
Hearn entered the final round in seventh place after posting scores of 69-77 through the first two rounds.
 
As a team, the Cowboys finished 10^th out of 15 schools with a score of 907 and a 294 on Tuesday as the best round of the three.
 
Jake Leatherwood had a 2-under 70 on Tuesday and finished in a tie for 34^th place with a 9-over 225. Theo Berger shot a 78 on the day to finish with a 231 while Reid Giardina had a 77 and ended with a 236 and Trey Meadows an 86 for the round to finish with a 249.
 
UT-Arlington won the team title with a score of 851, beating out Sam Houston who finished with an 858.
 
The Cowboys will not be back in action until April 26-28 when they take part in the Southland Conference Championship at Stonebridge Ranch Country Club in McKinney, Texas.
