HOUSTON – McNeese posted its best round of the Bayou City Collegiate Classic at the Westwood Golf Club here Tuesday, shooting a team round of 287 for the fifth-lowest on the day among the 17 teams.
Jack Hearn posted a 1-under 71 and finished in sixth place on the individual leaderboard with a three-round score of 210 for a 6-under par.
Hearn was one of four Cowboys to shoot par or better on the day as
Jake Leatherwood,
Reid Giardina and
Theo Berger each shot a 72.
Trey Meadows wasn't far behind with a 75.
As a team, the Cowboys finished the tournament in 14
th place with a 54-hole total of 886. Sam Houston won the team title with a 835 while Bearkat Paul Chaplet took home the individual championship with a 202 and 14-under par score.
Leatherwood and Berger led the Cowboys on the day with four birdies scored, Giardina and Hearn with three while Meadows shot two.
