• McNeese will enter the final regular season series coming off a four-game home sweep over Nicholls while UCA won 2 of 4 at HBU.
• The Cowboys are expected to continue with their regular pitching rotation of RHP Bryson Hudgens on Thursday, LHP Will Dion (game 1) and LHP Jonathan Ellison (game 2) on Friday, and RHP Ty Abraham in Saturday's finale.
• The final weekend of the season is always moved up to a Thursday-Saturday series to give teams Sunday as a prep day for the Southland Conference Tournament which will be played in Hammond May 26-29.
• Left fielder Julian Gonzales was named national (Collegiate Baseball), Southland Conference and Louisiana Hitter of the Week after his stellar outing last weekend that saw him hit over .700 while reaching base in 13 of 15 plate appearances. He also hit three home runs in the four game with all three coming within a stretch of four at-bats.
• Neither Hudgens nor Dion allowed an earned run in their games against Nicholls.
• Dion has not allowed an earned run in 13 consecutive innings.
• McNeese blasted 13 home runs against Nicholls last weekend.
• A win by McNeese or a loss by UIW will clinch a spot for the Cowboys in the league tournament.
• It's still possible the Cowboys can claim the regular season title but must sweep and get help.
