2023 Baseball Schedule

LAKE CHARLES – McNeese baseball head coach
Justin Hill has announced his 2023 schedule, one that features several first-time opponents, three 2022 NCAA Tournament participants, and 33 home games, not including the 2023 Southland Conference Tournament that the Cowboys will host.

McNeese, coming off a regular season conference championship for its third straight title (regular season or tournament), will open its slate February 17-19 at home against Creighton. The Cowboys last played the Blue Jays in 2019 with a win in the Lake Area Classic.

First-time opponents to face this season will be at home against George Washington (March 3-5), home against Yale (March 17-19), and in the regular season finale series at home versus Miami University (Ohio) on May 17-19.

Other non-league games will see McNeese visiting Sam Houston (Feb. 21) followed by a three-game series at former SLC foe UT Arlington (Feb. 24-26). Following that series, McNeese will host UL Lafayette (Feb. 28) and will make a return trip east on I-10 on March 8.

The Cowboys will go to Southern on March 1 while the Jaguars will come to Lake Charles on March 28.

A three-game home series against Prairie View will take place March 10-12 followed by a single game on March 14 at home against Mississippi Valley State.

Houston will come to The Jeaux on March 21 before the conference season starts on March 24-26 at home against Nicholls. Other league home series will include Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (April 6-8), New Orleans (April 21-23), and Lamar (May 5-7).

McNeese will visit Rice on April 12 and LSU on May 16.

The Southland Conference Baseball Tournament will be played May 24-27 at Joe Miller Ballpark.
