LAKE CHARLES –For the first time in program history, McNeese softball will take on Boise State in a three-game series beginning with a single game at 4 p.m. Friday, March 8 and concluding with a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday, March 9. 

*Friday's Game Has Been Changed From 6 PM to 4 PM due to anticipated weather concerns in the evening.

"There is no letup in the game schedule. Boise State is a red hot team," said head coach James Landreneau earlier in the week. "It will be another competitive game and we will need to find a way to play a little bit cleaner and score more runs." 

McNeese (10-9) is coming off tough a 5-3 loss to UL-Lafayette Wednesday night where the Cowgirls outhit the Ragin' Cajuns 9-6.  

Offensively, Alayis Seneca leads the Cowgirls with a .390 batting average and is second on the team with 16 hits along with eight RBI.  

Josie Willingham leads with 20 hits and is second on the team with a .370 batting average, nine RBI and has scored 11 runs.  

Kendall Talley leads the team with 14 runs scored and is coming off a 3 for 3 plate appearance against UL-Lafayette.  

Jil Poullard leads the Cowgirls at the plate with two home runs, 11 RBIs, a .694 slugging percentage and has scored 10 runs. Poullard is second on the team with seven stolen bases and third with a .361 batting average.  

With 13 appearances in the circle, Ashley Vallejo (5-5) leads the team with five complete games, 45 strikeouts, 62.1 innings contributing to a 3.03 ERA. Shaelyn Saunders (2-0) leads the pitching staff with a 2.80 ERA in seven appearances and two starts.  

Boise State (16-4), who has received votes in this week's USA Today/NFCA Top 25 Coaches Poll is coming off four straight weekends of tournaments. Before heading to Lake Charles, the Broncos will make a stop at the University of Houston for a double header Thursday, March 10.  

The Broncos are led by Alycia Florest with a .499 batting average and 21 runs. Jordyn Hutchins leads with four homers and is tied with Alison Seng with for the most RBIs (21). Hannah Bailey (6-1) leads the pitching staff with a 1.30 ERA and 60 strikeouts in 13 appearances. Taylor Caudill (6-2) trails right behind Bailey with a 1.99 ERA and 57 strikeouts in 11 appearances.
