NACOGDOCHES, Texas – McNeese track and field will continue its outdoor season this weekend when both the Cowboys and Cowgirls compete at the Carl Kight Invite and Multis hosted by Stephen F. Austin.
 
Cowgirl multi-eventer Morgan Talley will kick things off for the squad on Thursday when she competes in four events for the heptathlon then will wrap up that competition on Friday. The remainder of the team will compete on Friday and Saturday in their respective events.
 
McNeese T&F Notes:
• Nine athletes and relay teams are ranked No. 1 in the SLC in their respective events and 24 total athletes are ranked in the top 3.
• Those ranked No. 1 include: Dreunna Washington (women's 200m and long jump), Aurelia Jepkorir (women's 5000m), Sakari Famous (women's high jump), Malaiya Jedkins (women's triple jump), Janell Fullerton (women's shot put), Blanche Beard (women's javelin), women's 4x400 relay, men's 4x400 relay.
• Cowboy javelin thrower Hunter Longino will miss the rest of the season after suffering an arm injury in the first outdoor meet of the season.
• The Cowboys' 400-meter squad is ranked No. 13 in the nation in the event rankings, led by Jalon White whose 46.39 is No. 23 individually nationally.
• Other Cowboys ranked individually in the NCAA include: Zac Martin 67^th in the 100m; Joey Croft 80^th in the 3000m steeplechase; the 4x400 relay team is ranked 41^st and 4x100 relay is 87^th.
• Other Top 100 event rankings for the Cowboys include: 100m (28^th), 200m (34^th), hammer (45^th), 1500m (75^th), 800m (78^th).
• For the Cowgirls, the long jump event is ranked No. 25 in the country, led by Dreunna Washington's best mark of 20-1 to rank her 29^th nationally.
• Sakari Famous is ranked 12^th in the NCAA in the high jump; Janell Fullerton is 36^th in the shot put; Blanche Beard is 38^th in the javelin; and Malaiya Jedkins is 60^th in the triple jump and 84^th in the long jump.
• Other Cowgirl events in the Top 100 nationally: discus (37^th), 400m (49^th), 800m (60^th), 100m (72^nd), and 5000m (78^th).
