Schroyer announces staff promotions

| By:
LAKE CHARLES – McNeese Director of Athletics Heath Schroyer has announced changes within the department as he continues to strengthen an already solid staff.

Logan Loftin has been promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Ticket and Donor Relations; Kolby Carter is now Assistant AD for Athletic Facilities; Megan Soileau, Assistant AD for Student-Athlete Services; Connor Bean, Assistant AD for Game Operations; Phillip Mitchell, Assistant AD for Creative Media; Michael McLaughlin the Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement; and Leighton Chamblee, Sports Communications and Digital Media Assistant.

"When I took over as Athletic Director a few years ago I wanted to have a culture where loyalty, championship work ethic and dependability where rewarded," said Schroyer. "That wasn't the case before but it's been a priority of mine from day one. These title changes are an example of that. I learned a long time ago as a coach you're only as good as the players and staff you have around you. Our administrative staff is one of the thinnest in the country but what this staff produces on a daily basis is nothing short of incredible to me. I'm really honored to have the staff I have assembled. I truly believe this administrative staff will lead this department to unprecedented success in the next few years."

Loftin has been with McNeese for two years and has built a great relationship with Poke Nation.

"Watching this guy grow and completely upgrade our ticket office has been fun to watch," said Schroyer of Loftin. "Logan has brought a level of professionalism to this area that was severely lacking. His organizational skills along with his elite people skills make him an invaluable asset to this department. I'm really excited about his promotion and expanded role."

Soileau, a former Cowgirl soccer student-athlete, has worked tirelessly in the academic role and provides the support all McNeese student-athletes need to be successful in the classroom and community.

"Megan has completely revamped and taken the academic and student service area to another level," said Schroyer. "She inherited a mess and it's better today than it's ever been. Megan bleeds blue and gold and truly cares about the student-athlete experience."

Carter has worked in several areas in the department before being named the Coordinator of Athletic Facilities.

Schroyer about Carter: "Kolby has become my go-to in so many areas. He's a Swiss Army Knife where he can do so many things at a high level and he's one of the hardest workers I've been around. I'm really excited to promote Kolby to Assistant AD."

Bean joined the department at the end of last spring's season.

"Connor has become an integral part of our team," said Schroyer. "He's a tireless worker and has done a fabulous job in a short amount of time here. No job is too big or small for Connor and I'm excited to promote him to Assistant AD."

Mitchell has elevated the digital media department to levels its never been in his time with the department.

"PJ might be one of the most creative people I've ever been around," mentioned Schroyer. "His attention to detail and true handle of social media and its marketing ability is a true asset to this department. I'm really excited about PJ's growth over the last couple of years. I'm happy to name him Assistant AD."

McLaughlin is the newest member to the department, having stepped into the director of marketing role towards the end of the football season.

"I threw Michael into the fire in the middle of the football season and he absolutely rose to the occasion. He has a very bright future in college athletics. I'm excited to give him his first full-time job in college athletics and I'm really excited where he can help take this area in the next couple of years."

Chamblee has been the department photographer throughout his undergrad years. He received his bachelor's degree in December and was promoted to the sports communications and digital media assistant.

"Leighton brings a lot of energy and professionalism to the department. He's got a great eye to capture the perfect moment. I'm excited to have him continue to be a part of our team."
