LAKE CHARLES—McNeese softball, returns home Wednesday to host Houston in a single game beginning at 6 p.m.
McNeese, coming off a series win at Louisiana-Monroe last weekend, will enter the game with a 15-9 record while Houston comes to Lake Charles with a 12-12 record following a series win over Tarleton State over the weekend.
Offensively for the Cowgirls,
Alayis Seneca leads the team with a .317 batting average and is tied for a team high with seven stolen bases.
Chloe Gomez is batting .313 and leads the team with 21 hits including a team high five doubles.
Mariana Torres enters the game with a team high 12 RBI.
In the circle,
Whitney Tate is 7-1 with a staff low 1.58 ERA with eight walks and 40 strikeouts while
Ashley Vallejo is 4-7 with a 3.86 ERA and 33 strikeouts. Freshman
Lindsay Davis is 2-1 on the year with a 3.19 ERA and 15 strikeouts.
Houston is led at the plate by Turiya Colman's .481 batting average, 37 hits, eight doubles, five home runs, and 21 runs scored. Kenna Wilkey is 7-5 in the circle with a 2.45 ERA, 68 strikeouts in 74.1 innings.
