 LAKE CHARLES—McNeese softball will return to Southland Conference play this weekend at Lamar in a three-game series beginning with a doubleheader at 3 p.m. Friday night.  The series will conclude with a single game at 12 p.m. Saturday.
 
McNeese (23-10, 6-0 SLC) is coming off a 2-0 midweek win over Sam Houston on Thursday to extend the Cowgirls' winning streak to four games.  McNeese also heads into the series having won nine of its last 10 games.
 
Lamar (10-22, 3-3 SLC) is coming off a 3-2 loss at Texas A&M on Tuesday.  The Cardinals' three conference wins have come against Northwestern State where they won the series 2-1 then picked up a 6-2 win over Southeastern on March 18 in the final game of the series.
 
Alayis Seneca leads a host of Cowgirls batting over .300 with a .366 average, 30 hits, 16 runs scored, and 11 walks.
 
In the circle, Whitney Tate is 11-2 on the season, 3-0 in league play with a 1.48 ERA, five shutouts and 50 strike outs.  Ashley Vallejo is 6-7 on the year (2-0 in the SLC) with a 1.29 ERA.  Vallejo leads the staff with 57 strike outs.  Shaelyn Sanders is 3-0 with a 1.18 ERA while Lindsay Davis is 3-1 with a 3.03 ERA.  Ryann Schexnayder has appeared in eight games and has a 3.00 ERA.
 
Lamar is led at the plate by Sam Bean's .372 average, 35 hits, five homeruns, and seven doubles. Karyana Mitchell and Aaliya Ruiz both lead the pitching staff with four wins apiece.
