LAKE CHARLES-  McNeese assistant women's tennis coach Aymet Uzcategui is one of four recipients of the 2023 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) College Coach Opportunity Grant, the organization announced Thursday.  The grant program was created in 2018 to provide an additional avenue for select coach to attend the ITA Coaches Convention.
 
Now in its fourth year, this grant provides free registration to all recipients as well as a travel stipend that aims to assist minority coaches in their continuing education and networking efforts while bringing a different perspective to the discussions at the convention.
 
The 2023 ITA Coaches Convention will take place from May 17-20 at The Wave Hotel in Lake Nona, Florida. This will be the first year in which the Convention is held alongside the NCAA Championships.
 
Other 2023 recipients include Tasi Purcell Batista (Rollins College), Venecca Green (Lane College), Kris Powell (Illinois Institute of Technology), and Emily Wang (New Mexico State).
