SB: Cowgirls Earn No. 1 Seed and First Round Bye In 2023 SLC Championship

LAKE CHARLES—McNeese State University will serve as host of the 2023 Southland Conference Softball Championship May 9-12 at Joe Miller Field at Cowgirl Diamond.  All game will be streamed on ESPN+.
 
McNeese (41-14, 21-3 SLC), the 2023 regular season champions, earned the tournament's No. 1 seed and received a first-round bye to the seven team, double elimination tournament.  McNeese will face the game one winner between #4 seed Lamar and #5 seed Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 10.
 
Southeastern earned the No. 2 seed followed by Nicholls as the No. 3 seed.  Closing out the seeding is No 6 seed Lamar and No. 7 seed Houston Christian.
 
The championship game is scheduled for 12 p.m. on Friday, May 12 and the (if necessary) game is set for 2:30 p.m.  The tournament champion will earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
 
Tickets are currently on sale and can either be purchase online HERE, in person at Jack Doland Fieldhouse or by phone (337) 562-4678.  Tickets can also be purchased at Cowgirl Diamond during the championship.  A clear bag policy will be enforced.
