LAKE CHARLES – McNeese cross country swept the men's and women's team titles at Saturday's Lake Charles Toyota Cowboy Stampede, the Cowgirls placing seven runners in the top 10 individually among nine schools while the Cowboys had four finish in the top 10 with eight teams entered.

Marta Pascoa won the individual title with a time of 17:42.89 in the 5k race.

Sorcha Moloney placed third at 18:01.74;
Jeny Barcenas was fourth at 18:06.26;
Ciara Gilroy sixth at 18:27.54; and
Grace Sullivan was seventh at 18:33.50 to round out the five scoring individuals as the Cowgirls finished with 21 team points.

Bonnie Andres placed ninth with a time of 18:57.66 and Irene Barreiro-Lopez was 10
th with a time of 19:08.28.

• The Cowboys posted 26 points to win the team title, beating out ULM who finished second with 49 points.

Omer El-Fadl captured first place for the second time this year, finishing with a time of 18:52.13 in the 4-mile race and was one of three Cowboys to sweep the first three places.

Gilbert Kimutai was second at 19:25.46 and
Rolando Ortiz third at 19:45.65.
