Cowboys back in action Tuesday versus Southern

BATON ROUGE, La. - In its fifth consecutive game on the road, McNeese Baseball (8-8) looks to claim another road victory against Southern (4-9) Tuesday night at 6 p.m. at Lee Hines Stadium.

The Cowboys are coming off a weekend series against second-ranked Arkansas and are shown to have the second-toughest schedule thus far in the season. The team earned its first road victory of the season last Wednesday against Louisiana Christian who owns a 16-6 record.

Senior Braden Duhon aims to extend the team's longest hitting streak of the season, earning a hit in seven consecutive games back to the Prairie View series.

Junior Conner Westenburg remains nationally ranked in doubles on the season with eight and is 48th in the nation with 48 total bases thus far. Westenburg had the team's longest hitting streak of the season until Sunday's game against Arkansas and is the lone Cowboy to have reached double-digits in the stat.

On the mound, senior Kainin Morrow has made nine appearances for over half of the games played this season, sitting tied for sixth in the nation.

After the midweek duel, the Cowboys will take a weekend of rest before traveling a week later against UL-Lafayette.
