LAKE CHARLES – McNeese softball, winners of its last eight games, will travel to Tallahassee, Florida for midweek games on Tuesday and Wednesday against No. 18 Florida State.  Both games will be televised on the ACC Network.  Tiffany Greene (Play by Play) and Carol Bruggerman (Color) will call all the action in both games.

The contest will be the second and third meeting between the two teams.  McNeese defeated the Seminoles 6-1 on Feb. 20, 2018.  The Seminoles went on to win their first NCAA National Championship that year.

McNeese heads into the games with a 23-13 overall record after picking up a 3-2 road win at South Alabama last Tuesday and a SLC series sweep at Northwestern State on Thursday and Friday. 

Cowgirl senior Mariana Torres will be going against her younger sister, Isa is a freshman for the Seminoles.

Florida State (24-9) also enters the week on a winning streak, six games and are coming off a home ACC series sweep over NC State.

The Cowgirls are coming off a weekend where they outhit the Lady Demons 31-19 and outscored the Lady Demons 25-9. 

As a team, the Cowgirls are batting .269 with a staff ERA of 2.36.  Samantha Mundine leads the team with a .351 average and 39 hits.  Corine Poncho has a team and SLC high 13 homeruns and is batting .327 along with 20 walks, 32 hits, and 24 RBI.  Crislyne Moreno is batting .337 with 29 hits, 17 RBI, and a team high nine doubles.
Shaelyn Sanders leads the pitching staff with a 2.11 ERA and is 11-6 on the year with 113.0 innings pitched and 78 strikeouts.  Ryann Schexnayder is 5-2 on the year with a 2.65 ERA.  Lindsay Davis (4-5) has a 2.69 ERA and Alexis Dibbley (2-0) has a 1.75 ERA.
