LAKE CHARLES – McNeese softball returns to the diamond this weekend following a week off since its Southland Conference home series sweep over Lamar on April 6 when the Cowgirls travel to Commerce, Texas to face Texas A&M-Commerce in a SLC series.
The series will begin with a 5 p.m. doubleheader this Friday, April 12 and will conclude with a single game at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 13. All three games will be streamed on ESPN+.
McNeese (26-15, 11-1 SLC) has won 11 of its last 13 games with its two losses at No. 19 Florida State last week. The Cowgirls' lone conference loss was a 1-0 loss at Nicholls on March 15, the Cowgirls' SLC opening weekend.
The Cowgirls head into the series ranked fifth in the NCAA in double plays per game (0.61), sixth in stolen bases (88), and 13
th in stolen bases. McNeese leads the SLC in double plays per game, doubles, home runs per game, and walks.
