LAKE CHARLES – McNeese softball will host #19/25 Louisiana-Lafayette in a 6 p.m. midweek game Wednesday before returning to Southland Conference action at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi this weekend. The first 150 fans through the gate on Wednesday will receive a McNeese trucker hat.
McNeese (33-15) enters the game with one of the current longest winning streaks (10 games) in D1 softball following its conference series sweep over Houston Christian last weekend.
The Cajuns (33-15) will host #6/7 LSU tonight before heading to Lake Charles on Wednesday. UL-Lafayette defeated McNeese 2-1 in Lafayette on March 13 in the first meeting of the season between the two teams.
Freshmen
Alexis Dibbley and
Samantha Mundine lead the Cowgirls at the plate with a .365 and .345 batting average, respectively. Mundine has a team high 50 hits while Dibbley is second on the team with 10 doubles and five homeruns and third with 42 hits.Â
Corine Poncho continues to lead the Cowgirls with 15 homeruns, 33 RBI, and is second on the team with 44 hits.

Shaelyn Sanders, this week's Southland Conference "Pitcher of the Week" continues to lead the staff with 16 wins (16-7), a 1.88 ERA, six shutouts, 149.1 innings pitched, and 120 strikeouts.
For the Cajuns, Mihyia Davis has a team best .422 average and 70 hits. Alexa Langeliers leads the team with eight homeruns. Sam Landry leads the pitching staff with 17 wins 917-3) with a 2.23 ERA, five shutouts, 129 strikeouts in 141.1 innings. Chloe Riassetto is 11-3 on the year with a 2.59 ERA in 92.0 innings with 40 strikeouts.
