LEXINGTON, Ky.—McNeese's Indoor and Beach Volleyball programs are part of a record number of volleyball programs that have earned the 2024 AVCA Team Academic Award sponsored by INTENT, the organization announced today.
More than 1,400 collegiate and high school volleyball programs maintained at least a 3.3 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale), to earn the award for their classroom excellence during the 2023-24 academic year.
For indoor volleyball, the award marks the 10
th year the Cowgirls receive the honor and second under head third year head coach
Sasha Karelov. The Cowgirls posted 3.49 overall team GPA during the 2023-24 season.
Beach volleyball, under first year head coach
Yasmin Tan earned the honor in its first year of existence. The Cowgirls earned an overall 3.38 team GPA for the 2023-24 season.
