LAKE CHARLES--- McNeese softball will host Minnesota Tuesday at 1 p.m. in a game that will be played in Beaumont, Texas at the Lamar Softball Complex.
The meeting will be the third all-time meeting against the Gophers with the Cowgirls leading the series 2-0. The two previous meetings took place at the NCAA Tournament in the Seattle Region in 2023 where the Cowgirls won the first meeting 5-3 (13 innings) and the second was a 1-0 win.
McNeese (13-12) is coming off a Southland Conference series loss to Lamar last weekend. Minnesota (11-12) is coming off a 2-2 record at the LSU Round Robin with both wins coming against South Alabama.
Kassidy Chance leads the Cowgirl offense with a .371 batting average while
Samantha Mundine leads the team with 27 hits and
Jada Muñoz has a team high six homeruns.
Maddie Taylor continues to lead the pitching staff with five wins (5-4), 29 strikeouts, 49.2 innings and has a 4.65 ERA.
Kadence Williams (1-4) has a staff low 2.43 ERA in 31.2 innings of work.
