vs. UL-Lafayette

Series Record: UL-Lafayette leads the series 111-26 and have won the last six games.  The last McNeese win over the Cajuns was a 6-5 (13 inn.) game in Lake Charles in 2022.
 
 
LAKE CHARLES— McNeese softball, coming off a Southland Conference series sweep over Northwestern State, will host UL-Lafayette in a single game Tuesday, March 18 at 6 p.m. at Cowgirl Diamond.  The game will broadcast on ESPN+.
 
McNeese enters the game with a 17-13 overall record while UL-Lafayette is 14-12 overall.  The meeting will be second of the season with the teams having played each other at the Jane B. Moore Memorial hosted by Auburn on Feb. 28 with the Cajuns winning 4-1.
 
Kassidy Chance leads the Cowgirls at the plate with a .410 batting average and is tied for a team high 11 steals.
 
Jada Muñoz, this week's Southland Conference "Hitter of the Week" has a team high 33 hits, 19 RBI, eight home runs, 3- runs scored, .770 slugging percent and is second on the team with a .379 batting average.
 
Kadence Williams (3-4) leads the pitching staff with a 2.56 ERA with two saves.  Ryann Schexnayder is 3-1 on the year with a 3.82 ERA and a team high three saves with two coming against NW State over the weekend.  Maddie Taylor is 7-5 overall with a 4.54 ERA, 61.2 innings and 33 strikeouts.
 
The Cajuns enter the game after dropping its Sun Belt opening series at Marshall, picking up the second game win by a 7-1 score.
 
Kayla Fontenot leads the Cajuns with a .410 batting average while Maddie Hayden leads with 31 hits, and 23 runs scored.
 
Sam Ryan (3-3) has a team low 4.43 ERA while Mallory Wheeler (5-2) has a 4.59 ERA with 27 strikeouts.
