LAKE CHARLES.--- McNeese softball will have another busy week of games beginning with a 6 p.m. road game at UL-Monroe on Tuesday, March 4 followed by a 6 p.m. home game against South Alabama on Wednesday, March 5.
The Cowgirls week will end with its Southland Conference opening series at Lamar beginning with a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Friday, March 7 and the series finale at 12 p.m. Saturday, March 8. All five games this week will broadcast on ESPN+.
McNeese (11-9) is coming off a 1-4 showing at the Jane B. Moore Memorial where the Cowgirls picked up its only win of the tournament against Rutgers with a 3-2 win on Saturday. The Cowgirls losses were two UL-Lafayette, two against No. 19 Auburn, and one against Rutgers.
Kassidy Chance leads McNeese at the plate with a .405 batting average with 17 hits, four doubles, and 10 RBI.
Samantha Mundine has a team high 24 hits and is batting .387 while
Jada Muñoz is batting .364 with 20 hits and leads the team with five homeruns.
Maddie Taylor leads the pitching staff with five wins (5-3), 29 strikeouts in 45.0 innings pitches. She is second on the team with a 4.20 ERA.
Kadence Williams has a staff low 2.47 ERA in 22.2 innings and is 1-3 on the season.
UL-Monroe (14-7) enters the game on a 12-game winning streak and are coming off a 5-0 record at its own Best on the Bayou Tournament last weekend with one win over Tarleton and two wins over both Southeast Missouri and Memphis.
