Lake Charles – Former McNeese Cowgirl,
Stavroula Papazoglou, has signed a professional indoor volleyball contract with NOPE RETHYMNOY in Rethymno, Crete (Greece).
"I'm very grateful and blessed to have this opportunity to continue my career as a volleyball player, something I've always dreamed of," said Papazoglou.
"Spending these past years in the US allowed me to grow both as an athlete and as a person, and now it's time to carry this experience into new opportunities. After living the 'American Dream', it's time to make my other dream come true -playing professionally- which motivates me to keep working hard and make the most of this next chapter."
Papazoglou finished up her collegiate career as a Sandy Poke playing at the No.1 pair for the season, while also garnering the SLC Commissioner's Honor Roll award.
Prior to her time at McNeese, Stavi played both indoor and beach volleyball at Jacksonville State, indoor volleyball at Arkansas Pine-Bluff, indoor volleyball at Lewis-Clark State, as well as indoor volleyball at Odessa College.
The Greece native prepped at Daily High School of Mygdonia, while also playing club volleyball for Mygdoniakos, Daso, Eos, and Protathlites Pefkon.
