LAKE CHARLES— McNeese softball (13-6) will travel to Baylor this weekend for a three-game series beginning with a doubleheader at 2 p.m. Saturday.  The series will end with a single game at 1 p.m. Sunday.  All three games will stream on ESPN+.

McNeese is coming off an 11-4 home win over Iowa on Thursday while Baylor (12-4) is coming off a 6-3 win over Sam Houston on Wednesday.

The Cowgirls are led Nyjah Fontenot at the plate who enters the weekend with a .424 batting average along with a team high 28 runs scored and 14 RBI.  Rylee Cloud is batting .423 with 22 hits and a team high 19 RBI.  Corine Poncho (.333), Maddie Taylor (.333) and Jada Muñoz (.327) are all batting above .300.  Cloud and Muñoz both lead the Cowgirls with five homeruns apiece.

Freshman Brookelyn Taylor leads the pitching staff with a 5-1 record, a 3.21 ERA, 43.2 innings pitched, 32 strikeouts and three saves.

Maddie Taylor is 4-1 on the year with a .391 ERA, 28.2 innings pitched and 14 strikeouts.
