INDIANAPOLIS- McNeese women's basketball (28-5), the 2026 regular season Southland Conference Champions will travel to College Station, Texas to face Texas A&M (14-12) in the opening round of the WBIT set to begin, Thursday, March 19. Game time has not yet been set. All first and second round games will stream on ESPN+. A complete bracket with times will be released sometimes Monday.

The postseason tournament appearance will the seventh overall postseason appearance for the Cowgirls and the first for since 2016.
The meeting between the two teams will be the 12
th overall with the Aggies holding a 9-2 record against the Cowgirls. The Aggies were one of the "First Four Out" of the NCAA tournament bracket, thus earning an automatic spot as a top four seed in the WBIT.
The Aggies have won the last nine meetings with the last meeting being played in College Station on Nov. 26, 2014 with the Aggies winning 93-27.
The Cowgirls fell 71-59 to Stephen F. Austin in the Southland Conference Championship game while the Aggies lost 50-49 to Auburn in the first round of the SEC Tournament.
