LAKE CHARLES— McNeese softball (20-12) will travel to Lafayette Tuesday for a midweek game against UL-Lafayette.  First pitch is set for 6 p.m. and the game will stream on ESPN+.

The Cowgirls will look to get back on track after losing five of its last six games including a Southland Conference series sweep at Nicholls over the weekend.

The Cajuns lead the series 35-5 with McNeese snapping a six-game losing streak with a 5-4 win in Lake Charles last season.

Nyjah Fontenot continues to lead the Cowgirls' offense, leading the team with a .389 batting average, 42 runs scored, and 29 RBI.

The Cowgirls pitching staff will carry a .423 team ERA into the game.  Maddie Taylor and Brookelyn Taylor both lead the staff with seven wins apiece.

Maddie Taylor is 7-2 on the season with a 4.21 ERA and Brookelyn Taylor is 7-5 with a 3.15 ERA.  Kynlei Chapman is 4-4 with a 4.01 ERA.

UL-Lafayette (19-13) is coming off a Sun Belt Conference series home win over Texas State over the weekend with the Cajuns winning two out of three games including the rubber game on Sunday by a 6-1 score.
