LAKE CHARLES— McNeese softball (20-13, 4-5 SLC) returns home since the beginning of March to host Incarnate Word (22-10, 7-2 SLC) for a three game Southland Conference series.

The series will begin with a 6 p.m. single game on Friday and will conclude with a doubleheader on Saturday slated for a 1 p.m. start.  All three games will stream on ESPN+.

McNeese, enters the series tied for fifth place in the conference standings, will look to snap a five-game losing streak following its 5-2 midweek game at UL-Lafayette on Tuesday.

Since its SLC opening weekend sweep over Lamar, the Cowgirls dropped two of three games at NW State and were swept by Nicholls last weekend.

UIW comes into the series tied for second place in the SLC standings with Nicholls.  Southeastern is atop the standings at 9-0.

The Cowgirls lead the SLC with 35 homeruns, 141 walks, and third with a .335 batting average.  McNeese has a staff 4.58 ERA. 

The Cardinals are second in the SLC with a .338 batting average, 212 runs, 279 hits, 57 doubles, and 32 homeruns.  The Cardinals pitching staff comes into the series with a 3.97 ERA.
